Water intrusion into homes and buildings leads to the growth of microorganisms. The microorganisms consist of filamentous fungi (molds) and bacteria. The result is a complex indoor environment that has not received adequate scientific/medical research. Environmental scientists and physicians need to speak out on this issue. The purpose of these postings is to bring to the public key peer reviewed research literature that defines various aspects of the complexity of the indoor environment and how it affects human health.
